I'm hoping it will be the leisure boat that I'll be in but that's another story!

Cruise Update

Hi Guy's & Doll's

A quick note on what is happening so far.

I have found a Hotel that will take up to 40 of us.

I am talking to Cowes Yatch Haven Marina at the moment to secure berthing facilities for this w/end. However, the Berthing Master wants to liase with Ribex people first. I do not think it will be a problem just out of courtesy, so I have been told. Will know more on Monday. As soon as I have anymore news will post.

Regarding any Bookings for Hotel/Berthing.

I will probably follow the BIBOA Cruise format, You send details to me and I will book your room/berth through me, once I have recieved payment. It will be done on a first come basis.

I will confirm by "E" Mail or phone.

Just finalising the details please bare with me on this.

Regards
Kevin

Err, think it might be rather busy that weekend in the Solent as its the 60 anniversary of D Day!

Like 20,000 old fogies all arriving in Portsmouth, millions of yachties crashing into ribs . (Old spice still not repaired) and parking in cowes, ha no chance.

So should be a brilliant. But you really are going to have to book early.

Pete

Not Repaired Yet

Hi Pete,

I am sorry to hear that Old Spice is still not repaired yet. Is this due to insurance company or repairs bigger job than first thought.

I know it is the Aniverassary of th landings but it will still be a good w/end will give everyone a chance to brush up on their collision avoidance procedures

Hope it repairs are finished soon, it will be good to see you on the water again.

Best wishes
Kev.

Berthing News

Hi Charles and for all Ribsters,

At the moment the only news I have is that the Berthing Master from the Marina is talking with the people from Ribex.

Apparently the Ribex organisers have not confirmed how many berths they require yet. I am being told they get the priority.

I have pointed out that we want up to 20 berths for this w/end, guarenting visitors to the Ribex event.

Unfortunately, the Berthing Master is now off Sick, I will hopefully know more this comming Monday.

I have asked them to sort this out as quickly as possible as people are wanting confirmation of facilities before booking their hotel accomodation.

As Soon as I find out any more details I will let you all know.

Regards
Kevin

AY, its the insurance company to date one quote and a survey by a qualified surveyor who hadn't a clue about ribs and suggested a pollyfiller and paint job ! I explained the facts in words of one syllables. they now want another quote. Have Peters from Chichester coming Wed. If you think some yards are expensive wait for the quote from Peters, however saw the 30' fairline they did a few years ago after it lost 4 feet off its bows. Brilliant repair, you couldn't even see the join of the new bow section. So fingers crossed she will be finally repaired. However I now keep a look out for a yacht called Sorina and the trail of devastation she leaves in her wake. Normally moored off Priddys Hard, Gosport.

I agree the weekend should be great and I will be there, we just need to make accm and mooring arrangements early. Fanks for taking on the organisation of this, much appreciated and I am sure there will be a beer or two from those attending.

1st 2nd or 3rd ????

Hi Brian & Daniel,

If I remember right we had this discussion in Plymouth last year. As I understand it Plymouth was the 2nd therefore this will be the 3rd "annual" meet.

I stand to be corrected if anyone else knows different.

Daniel I have asked JK to sort a link out if he cannot do it I will send doc to you.

Need link to document so that people can down load a copy to send details onto me with there deposit for accomodation.

Regards
