Ah but taking it slow allows you to soak in the beautiful scenery for longer !

Each to their own I suppose though!
Cheers

Spent the last couple of days hiding here. Out again now, the Minch is, erm.. a bit lumpy!

Xk59D has warned me this will be 'shite', his words.
Nothing exciting but had a brill crossing of the Minch today, a nice beam sea. 2 wee videos, I'll give them a go at uploading.
This is how a Humber travels...

We were crossing to round the northerly point of Skye, met the 5 knot tidal stream head on and rode the waves and whirlies for a time then found... How cool is this?! Super smooth....

Super smooth indeed! Nice and quiet in that cabin too.

We got similar seas from Donegal to Stornoway - it's quite stunning when that happens. Where was the wee enclosed harbour? Annoyingly, I can't work it out...

Hehe, you're closer to home than you know. I sing in a wee group and we sing in Edinburgh for the holidaying rubbernecks during the festival to raise money for Marie Curie, The Midges is one of our songs.

A plug... anyone in Edinburgh will find us in Rose St. 11am to 1.00pm on August 18th and 26th. Say hello and pop some money into the bucket!

Perhaps - but I have experienced many years of bizarre ribby interconnectedness. I cast my bread on the waters and I'm continually amazed at what returns on the next wave. Nothing much surprises me anymore, but when it does, I get a real laugh out of it...

time to back out and go the long way round? Scottish Canals are not exactly rolling in cash at the moment and seem to have a backlog of maintenance issues, so could be a big delay...
