That's the perfect situation - when you're not entirely sure.

Follow an unorthodox route to throw the spies off! Either that or he had Pax on board and wasn't going to risk sharing the best stuff!

Heading for Tayvallich to put the rib in tomorrow. It’s been having tube treatment for a leak for two months. Cheers

Well, we got home safely - I forgot to report back:

A few weeks ago I was approached by a couple of lads who wanted passage to Scotland. They needed a fast boat with the range to swing by Skerryvore on the way in. Most importantly, they didn't want any, um, Imperial entanglements. I explained that the willkcraft had made the Kessel run in under 12 parsecs which seemed to impress them, so we bumped elbows on it.

I collected them at 0700 in thick fog. Viz was down to 50m and the approach was tight. I was glad I had the Wookie on Nav with Radar and AIS fired up. We proceeded in fog until the sun and open water opened the day up. At 0800 we were headed 020 degrees magnetic through deserted seas in perfect conditions. By 0930 we were approximately 30Nm from the nearest useful landfall in any direction and everyone got real interested in the plotters. By 1030 we were swinging on the anchor off the back of Skerryvore Lighthouse in blazing sunshine eating breakfast rolls. The seals were very taken with us and the King of them all rocked up to serenade us from his throne. My passengers were well pleased with our speedy progress and decided to take in Gunna Sound at Tiree & Coll before we nipped over to Staffa for a goo at Fingal's Cave. By then hunger had overtaken the Wookie so we tanked up to Calgary Bay for another meal at anchor. After that we headed north around Mull, admiring Ardnamurchan Light en route and pulled into Tobermory for fuel and dinners. Our passage ended in Oban at around 1930.

Day 2

The next morning saw us away at 0930 and we ran west through Easdale Sound and out through the inpouring Grey Dogs before having a play in the Corryvreckan, which for once was putting on a decent show. The west coast of Jura showed well and we popped into Lough Tarbert for a bit before shooting the sound down past Port Askaig and hitting Craighouse for lunch. Homewards again and as we peeled off the Oa on Islay, we spotted the oppo in a SSBN, our first Imperial Troops of the trip. Luckily they appeared to be sinking so we proceed across the channel, once again on radar as the viz closed in. Safely across to Malin Head by 1730, we made home at 1900, bringing to a close my first Scotland Raid in two years. 313Nm in 36 hours - sweet indeed.

Thanks, yeah, it was a long 2020 and I hadn't quite realised how much being beached had hit me, I don't believe I'm over it yet.
Just ashore from a nice 60Nm scoot today to Ireland's most northerly island. It's very special and I have to resist the temptation to say:

"ALL THESE ISLANDS ARE YOURS – EXCEPT INISHTRAHULL. ATTEMPT NO LANDING THERE"

Just a personal observation, but if you southern softies spent more time worrying about reuniting counties, and less about claiming worthless rocks, we might have more results.
