Thornton bank trip

Hi Guys,

29th of September we (Wandelaar an me, 2 Osprey Eagle's) went on a trip, starting @ the Dutch Deltaworks (Neeltje Jans, link) we headed for Zeebrugge Belgium, visited the pits and watched a heat of the Belgium Offshore Challenge (link).

After the BOC we headed for the Thornton bank windfarm (link), 25 mile trip from Zeebrugge, about 20 mile offshore. Winds up to 33kn/7Bft made great waves, beyond the size we could keep up a good planing speed.

Great trip, good fun, tons of water (also inside the boat ) and aching muscles for some days...

Short movie below!

Thanks guys!

@ Mick, should be a nice crossing, might be even better with a bit less wind.

When you go from Ramsgate to Zeebrugge you can probably maintain a straight line, I think (not 100% sure) all windfarms are located further to the North. From Port of Ramsgate to Port of Zeebrugge is 123km/67Nm/77mile.

You can always try to plan a trip like that during the BOC (link), then you will find Powerboats and Pizza in Port Zeebrugge, beats a regular day out there
