Playing on the waves off Puffin Island

A stiff NW breeze and a rising tide gave us the opportunity of some fun yesterday. The big waves at the mouth of the Conwy river deterred many from venturing out earlier in the day, but it was a great opportunity to get some practice in handling the ribs. Mark in Carma 3 and myself and Ged in Hawkeye (safer to have two ribs) eventually made it out to Puffin Island. A pod of dolphins graced us with their presence. The tidal stream was in good flow, I managed one good photo of Mark (hard to keep the camera still on the big swell) showing the Air-Craft rib to be aptly named. They handle very well on rough water. The passage home was exhilarating, taking only a third of the time of our outward trip.

Looks like you had a good time Doc . I like pic 1, it would look great enlarged and in a frame.

Saw you both from the coast road heading out towards puffin. Picture one was occurring regularly at that point.
