[No pics] I miss Dal's posts...

What, no action in San Diego?

Weather pretty much sucks up north (Monterey); kind of surprised that our SoCal guys haven't been tearing it up....

Or, did I miss something?

Sorry guys; been off sick! ear infection turned nasty and now have Bell's Palsy. Nice look for Christmas though! numb on left side, drooling and eye that stays open all the while. Usually takes several rum and cokes to achieve this; so I must be saving money!!!
Really sucks as the"Discovery TV channel" is down here making a documentary about the "Protector" patrolboat I covered a few months back. Was supposed to be support this time, but had to hand it over to my Buddie with the Northwind RIB.
Same time , Americas cup ,USA 11 is setting up an an tour business and I had to turn down the web and advertising photos
So although the weathers good the Ribsters not
Getting back slowly and looking forward to being back out there!
Hope you all get a better christmas,
Heres a few from last month to keep you going( check out the guy on the bowsprit )
cheers Dal

Dal;

Sorry to hear you're under the weather.

Guy on the bowsprit? I took just a quick glance, but it looked like more than one.

Hope your recovery is swift and complete; if the wife gets a couple of one-eyed drooling pics of you, be sure to put them up.

Best wishes;

jky

Bummer about the missed opportunities.

Don't worry about the Bell's, I had it for my college graduation, even better timing than you! Great photos of me... Some 17 years later, I have to be really tired before my wife can notice any after effects.

LOL. I was looking at #4. Didn't even see the guy in the other shot.

Beautiful pics, by the way.

Have a good Christmas;

Great pics again Dal - you realise you are being punished for sending us such photos whilst we have had 8 weeks of constant rain and 101mph winds!!!

Mate's daughter had Bell's - no sign at all of it now but she looked a right state when she first had it - must be really scary - very much like a stroke victim to look at. Hope you get better ASAP - remember leave off the Rum - unless you get a bib - you can wring it out after to catch the drips!!!

thanks Codders,
just hoping to be able to get on the water by mid january.
Lots of Cannon battles going on with 3 tall ships visiting.
One of them being the "Interceptor" from "pirates of the Caribbean" as well as the "Hawaiian Chieften" and "Lynx" ( a personal favorite of mine ,as it's such an elegant ship )
Problem is my one eye doesnt blink and stays open Not good for buzzing around on the water.Could fit a face mask or goggles I suppose, but a pain to keep dropping them to use the camera. Oh well, hope for the best and just have to improvise;
cheers dal
