My Zodica Pro 550

Hello all,

I used to have a Zodiac MK2 Futura Alu, SIB, the bottom glue seams failed after 3 years of vigorous use. I got a great deal on this 550, and I just love this boat. Powered with a 90 ETEC HO and she flies like a bat out of hell. Im a diver so the load capacity is awesome! Also went with the hypalon vs the PVC as well. I am very impressed by its handling in the chop. I live on the Cheseapeake Bay on a draw bridged accessed island, and the bay is notorious for being very choppy. Especially during a south wind, the bay is only 9 miles wide where I live so we get cross chop from wave reverberation.

Cheers~ CAP

Sweet setup! How do you like the ETEC 90 HO?

I used to dive Lake Michigan all of the time from a Pro 550 w/ 70hp Merc 4st. 4 geared up tech divers, it cruised comfortably at about 28 mph.

I put my 550 through some pretty ragged conditions, 30knt + winds and 50 k offshore chassing game fish. For inshore diving I drop down to a smaller pitch prop with 4 divers and gear.

I've owned lots of boats over the last 40 years of boat owning and have to say my little zodiac has been the most fun yet. The improvemeants to the hull design a couple of years ago made them even better.
