Thank you. I think we're set up for life now with this rig, and we should never have an issue recovering at low tide. We're also now legal to tow on the road as Sarah's company car (Peugeot 3008 SUV) can't.

Used a couple of different methods recently although if travelling a longer distance I’ll use the G500 each time.

Looks good pipster. Will keep an eye out for you when we are down in Falmouth this year. Where does the boat live during the summer months?

I keep the RIB at home and launch it at Mylor harbour (free ). From home to floating takes me less than 30 mins, I don’t have a permanent mooring or berth for it, I just use the visitor’s pontoon for the period I want the boat in for. I have undercover storage at home so it keeps it clean and UV off it when not in use.

Sounds like an ideal setup. Can you launch at any state of the tide?

Generally you're ok a couple hrs either side of low water on springs, a little less on neaps. With a 4x4 and as long as you don’t mind some mud on your tyres and there’s a couple of you, you could push for a launch/recovery on anything other than a really big spring low. As I often launch single handed it’s easier when there’s more water as the pontoon is afloat and space to moor the RIB whilst I go and park the car and trailer.
