Dolphin at Gunwharf

Unfortunately being too slow with the shutter and also 100 m up on the Spinnaker Tower today, the picture failed to capture it by a split second but wondered if anyone else had seen the animal that close to shore before. It certainly caused quite a stir on the viewing platform. The rib in the picture (not sure who it was but they looked "official") was circling around near the pontoons and the dolphin was sticking so close to the boat we thought it was in danger of connecting with the prop. Whether they were trying to encourage it out of the harbour or what I don't know.

Didn't see what happened in the end as got dragged off with the family but it was fascinating nevertheless.
Cheers

Nice shot!

He was just doing his Crimbo shopping

Saw him down Southsea later in a tasteful Crimbo display on the side of a house

te official looking rib was probably the voluntter squad telling him he should be in the small boat channel and was travelling in the wrong directionand was now under arrest! failing that it was from Gunworf measuring him up for mooring fees.

I share your sentiments about Prop damage, these mammals bring so much joy to us people it would be a tragedy if it was hurt, let's keep em crossed that doesn't happen! gArfie would be devasted that all flikkas training went too waste
