Buoys I have seen...

A whole new thread of photographs of Buoys (careful that you do NOT miss out the 'u'), what a brilliant idea (even though I do say so myself).

So, to start us all off, here is a couple of photographs of the 'Buss Bank' buoy in the mouth of the Cromarty Firth...

This on does not float but is a navigation aid. It's off Eastborne and Hastings.

They seem like a nice couple of buoys.

Those towers always remind me of the old War of the Worlds film.

This is Horse Sand Fort, in the solent. Just found this about what its going to be turned into ..... how much will they cost? Lets hope I win the loto.

Horse Sands Fort
Portsmouth City Council has granted provisional
planning permission for this fort during the
Planning and Development meeting held in April.
The owners ‘Optima Cambridge Ltd’ must now
come forward in the next 12 months with detailed
plans for the conversion into 14 apartments.
Optima are going to convert part of the basement
area into living accommodation for three live-in
staff.

And if you a fancy a job working on it try: http://www.jobbank.ro/jobseekers/job...hp?job_id=3660

These links have lots of good photos of Solent forts:

Keith, although my sea objects are not buoys they are all navigation aids ... and I have seen them all. Do they still count? I am hunting for a very special buoy photo I took in Orkney, you may know which one I mean..... RO. Will post it as soon as I find it in my photobox.
