Yam autolube 50hp spares query

Following a lady driving into the back of our dory, and snapping off the lower part of the leg (just above propellor) the engine is well beyond repair, but should be of use to someone for spare parts.

With regard to the engine prior to the accident we had just been out and all was working fine. The insurance has now been settled and the complete head (along with remains ends of lower leg) is now taking up space and I would rather it went to a new home as opposed to an eBay 99p auction.

Will post a couple of pictures in due course, but if anyone is interested please advise.

Cheers

Ian

There's definitely a market for the Yamaha (model 50G). The carbs alone are a scarce as hen's teeth. Might be a project for someone to upgrade a 40hp to 50hp. Pity this engine had to end up as parts. You'd probably make more money selling it as stripped down rather than just putting the whole unit up for spares or repair.

I'm assuming the head bearing is probably damaged too - if the leg was snapped off as a result of the impact?

Post up a picture - might it only need a lower unit?

These are 2 of the pictures of the engine shortly after the accident and show the extent of the damage which is why it has been offered as free for spares as it has been sat in the garage.

Collection would be from Bristol. I have had a couple of messages which I will reply to, but hopefully this gives a better idea of the condition and it will be off to a better home in due course.

Wow....I guess the legs are fairly brittle so snap rather than bend.

Still lots of good bits on it....electrics, head, maybe even power trim.....

OK - I guess just a bit more than a lower unit!
