Wanted: - Rear bench seat for Searider or suggestions on where to find one!!

Hi All

Would like to but a rear bench seat into the Searider that can fit the fuel tank inside - any thoughts or suggestions on where to look for one of these?

TQ

I think you may find it hard to buy one that will fit. How about making one yourself?

Right where's that hubby of mine gone.........

On a serious note - is it a fairly easy thing to do - have noticed a few threads on console building I assume this is even simpler??

There's quite a few people on here do "Delux to Jockey" conversions on SR4s. Could maybe get a seat module(s) from them?

That's a good idea. I think chewy had the seat bases for his. Worth asking him.

Oh hang on, I don't think you'll fit fuel tanks under them.

Certainly not the front facing ones, but I have a distant memory you could get one under the rear bench?

I may also be talking b*ll*cks and be thinking of a completely different boat....... It wasn't yesterday!

I still have a seat base, well its residing in my mates garden at the moment. I'm sure if you want it you could have it.

Hi Chewy

That would be amazing - thank you

Let me know what I owe you etc etc - but don't worry if your mate is now using it for soemthing else - like an up turned planter - in his garden

You might benefit from planking in a simple mock-up in ply for a trip or two. I find them less useful than they look! I removed mine, admittedly, I have four jockey seats....

That's interesting Willk - might try that - don't really want to ask hubby to "create" something only to find I then don't like it or want - he'll just moan about me being typically female

Was thinking about just the general size - could be done with crates or boxes tied together. Test the position allowing for a fully raised motor. Pretend you have storage in it. Sit on it during a choppy run, it's a fairly wet spot on most ribs. In particular - note how much deck space you have left. Might be just what you want - might not!

Shame you didn't mention the extra seating/storage before. Lee from Leeway RIBs is based in West Cowes. I would have put money on him having something laying around his workshop that would have suited.

You could always ring him, www.leewayribs.co.uk

Or this one. Look under products for some consols and storage.

Give him a ring and ask him if he has any seconds, I bought a seconds rear seat base several years ago for a fraction of the price. I couldn't have told you what was wrong with it, it was so good.

Tell him you got his name from me and mention RIBnet

Will do - sounds like a cunning plan Andy - some good looking stuff there and already cheaper than some I've seen
