Wanted: Dive Canister for PLB

Hi folks
Does anyone have a waterproof Dive Canister (~50m) for a PLB that's collecting dust. Been looking at the Custom Divers one but it's a little pricey for a plastic tube

Cheers

Read on another forum that old underwater camera housings sometimes work.

If anyone else is looking the Sony Marine Pack for Cyberrshot cameras fits the McMurdo 220 Fast find perfectly!
Saves £75!

Plb cannister

We've got the Mcmurdo fastfind maxG in a metal canister. Rated to 150m!!!!! The trouble with a plastic housing is if someone drops a weightbelt or similar it will get smashed? Photo below describes better. As you can see its fitted with a s/steel band & Gibb hook so divers can take it with them. Hope you get sorted? Regards-John

Forgot to correct you on the material, Custom divers canisters are high grade aluminium not plastic. Cheers.

You're right ,,,, not quite std pvc ! : Very strong, no corrosion and very well made/machined. I have had one in my stab jacket pocket for years and all dry as a bone inside.
I think Custom Divers told me they were made of delrin but I could be wrong. Easily done !

Pete, I'm drop you a PM.
Peter_c, you have me intrigued. I've searched online and all other canisters for the McMurdo Fastfind 220 look like they've been discontinued.

So you have a McMurdo? There is a thread on Scubaboard started by the user name "Mike" in the Cozumel forum that you can use the term "epirb" to search for. You could also search the same forum for "Peter_C" and you might get less hits, as I rarely post there. It is geared more towards the Resqlink+ but the McMurdo was covered.

Peter_c, took a look - it was actually Scubaboard that suggested old camera housings.
Many of the threads cover various PLB / EPIRB options plus VHF / DSC options (Nautilus seems to be a big draw for a few). Custom Divers canister is really the only option mentioned (although the Pains Wessex one appears in pics, and Otterbox is briefly covered).
In the end it comes back to my original conclusion, there are few options available.
Cheers
