Wanted - 4*4.... just to launch

Ello,

I want a no thrills, 4*4 pulling unit that can haul an 8m rib in and out of the water from a concrete slip.

don't care if it's cosmetically a bag of bits, as long as the mechanicals are sound.

The lower the price the better as is for a small charity working out of the Western Solent.

Cheers.

Personally I would look at getting a second hand 2nd generation Toyota Surf. Don't get me wrong I'm a dedicated Landy fan but the surf would be cheaper to run, rust less, leak less oil into the sea and be more reliable. Plus it is probably a bit heavier at the back end and longer with wider tyres so it will get more grip on the slipway!

If not, I'd grab an old Frontera diesel-but avoid the 2.3-or an old tractor.

Have you thought about a tractor as it would hold its value much better?
