Need a Trailer Spare Wheel

175R13 8 ply on 5.5"PCD
Cheapest new price I found was £65.00

As its a spare - happy for something second hand and legal,
but if anyone has a line on a new wheel and tyre that would
be great also.

thanks
Andy

Tyres are just like anything else , and you can get dirt cheap ones ( which may be fine if you are only going 400 metres at 10 mph ) . Beware though , tyres deteriorate with age , and whether they are stored , exposed to sunlight ( UV ) , or if they kept under load , and not rotated every 4 weeks or so . The Caravan Club's advice is do NOT use any tyre over 7 years old , and avoid anything over 5 years old . ( or anything at all with bulges , flats or serious cracks ) . You can tell how old a tyre is from the code on the sidewall.

A tyre failure on a single axle trailer can be pretty catastrophic at 60 mph

I think a lot of caravan wheels are not 5.5"pcd.
Also have to make sure the tyres are rated for 1500kg and not 4 ply.
Valid points raised though.

I was hoping someone may have had a spare trailer wheel kicking around,
or like I said originally, a good source for a reasonably priced new one.
