Intermediate Course 4 Macmillan

Tim Griffin has very kindly offered one space on an intermediate powerboat course

The course is on Tues 8th April & Weds 9th April 9-5 at East Cowes marina.

Two other Ribnet members also on this course, Oli and James will be getting the ferry across from Southampton at about 8ish on both days at approx cost of £7 each way.

These courses cost around £200-£300 and Tim Griffin has a fantastic reputation

If you want to stay on the Island I would recommend the Anchor Inn, west Cowes

Payment is to be made into our RIB 4 Macmillan JustGiving account.

Who wants to give us a great offer for this fantastic course?

Myself and Mike Bennetts lad are doing the course with Tim.

I think this is a very generous offer from Tim especially as he had already heavily discounted the course for myself and Mike originally.

Details of the course:

RYA INTERMEDIATE POWERBOAT
The RYA have recognised that there is a gap in the training between powerboat level 2 and the Advanced syllabus, this new award is the Intermediate, consisting of coastal cruising by day ,using gps and traditional navigation methods at high speed , plus the importance of the role of skipper the whole idea is we plan a passage and then we do it, .held over two days, course content involves tips and tricks for navigating at speed, charts, chart symbols, gps, day shapes, passage plans,CG66, weather, tides, man overboard, how to handle emergencies, boat handling , rules of the road, and more, a good course for developing skills for those of you wishing to take short coastal passages by day . Students must have Powerboat level 2 with a coastal endorsement .vhf / first aid recommended.

Hotel, train stations etc....
