That's an interesting one. Assume that's some sort of anti-foul and the engine's been left on a moored craft??

Those Tohatsu's are tough basic motors and it's about half the price of a mint one.

Yep got to be worth a chat!

Well after a txt and a call ive found out the engine has stopped pumping water so could be an impeller or head gasket? Am i right in thinking a thermostat would fail open?

That's a shame. Personal though is stay well clear... sadly. Ok you could get lucky with just a new impeller and it would be a bargain... but if it's overheated then it could be a full rebuild.

Gamble of the week!

The gamble for me would be more of a kick in the teeth given the distance id have to travel to then have a full rebuild. Seller seems to think thermostat has failed closed but im sure it should fail safe (open but ineffective, never getting to optimum temp). Either way like i say its the distance for me. If im travelling that far its for a good un.
