Did the console look something like on this one?

This particular Pacific 22 was found on the Baltic sea in July 2002 just off the Polish coast by a Polish fishing vessel . They were coming back to port having had a bad day and then this what a catch. I am told it fell overboard from HMS Lanchaster .

Excellent Job, I did the same thing to our old humber years ago with the help of Alan Priddy, Made the boat so much better to handle etc, With stringers like they put in those boats your hull strenght will not be effected, they are seriously strong boats.

Andre, wish one would fall over board in front of me. Says something for the boat if it survives going over the side of a RN destroyer! Wonder what the weather was like at the time, dread to think actually.

Manos, haven't actually changed anything as there is already two inspeciton hatches under the standard Pacific console. The main bulkhead between the engine and forward compartment is still in tact, just has a great big fuel tank sat in front of it. Although I am waiting for a warning from Crazyhorse to say someting about CZ curves (what ever they are) or RCD since I have doubled the fuel tank capacity and altered the moments, L1 x W1 = L2 x W2 if I remember correctly, but physics was a long time ago.

This one (hull number 8203) is the HMS Sultan training one, sadly most of the fitting have gone, no idea were ?

To all, thanks for the compliments, I have to admit that going down to the boat in January and laying more and more GRP was soul destroying, didn't do much for my jeans either, but geting the console in was a big boost. Naturally I fitted the steering wheel just so I could go "brum, brum". Quite impressed by the Vetus stuff, well made and managed to get 8% off, from the Port Solent chandlers because the order was quite big, so deals can be done.

Manos You couldn't compromise the Hull integrity of a Pacific with a few grammes of C4, they are hugely strong boats and the decks more of a covering than a stuctural item. The stringers are made by GRP covered 4 by 2 mahogany

I.ve always been impressed by these boats and working on this one has told me why.

Mr. 7 is a very accurate and precise worker and it's been a pleasure to help him, I am learning a lot

We saw a racing boat that had the outboard bracket sheared off on it's maiden voyage. It was obviously a bad casting but the driver an navigator had to be towed in by a sailing yacht.

The irony is in who the navigator was and I stress it wasn't his fault

Phil funny you should say that, I work along side but not for there parent group Vosper Thornycroft. Couldn't work for Manos as I can only lay fibreglass in straight lines not curves like Falcon.

(Sorry Manos, couldn't resist it after you posted that pic of the inside of a Falcon. I look forward to seeing one of these Falcons in the flesh and you making me eat my words).

Pete7 you have certanly worked very hard on the boat and got her into the best nick you can.

My question is would you do it again and how much have you spent.I did the same thing with a yacht and it took me 12 yrs and I loved it,but I lost money when I sold her.

Would you do it again?

We are all different and I can say haveing looked at your pics and the amount of pride/work you have put into her then good luck and I hope you enjoy it,and I look forward to seeing her on the water.
