Fuel additives for winter
I am just starting to think about getting things together for the winter period and was wondering what you guys do for the fuel system when "winterising" the boat. I intend to use the boat over the winter too, but it will be on a "stick your head out of the door, see that it looks good and go" basis rather than a regular usage.
So, is there a "best" fuel additive and conditioner that is recommended by all - or is it a compromise, like most things? If I put any in for the winter does it have to be drained out before I can use the boat, or will it be fine to stay in with the engine running at max-chat? I'm guessing that the engine will be fine with the additive in it, but thought I'd ask before I ruin a perfectly good Yammy 115AETL!!
Anything else you do to winterise your boat? Mine is kept on a trailer (angled to let water run to the stern), under a fully fitted cover with the bungs all removed.
Thanks!
