I would have thought that would be the sensible way to do it unless there was a dead-man's switch that triggered an alarm or similar when the tension came off the tow line. Don't know what's around...

I can't speak for that suit in particular, but I had the OSJ2 jacket I think for work coupled with Musto salopettes and they were the best waterproofs I've ever had. I spent 2 years doing field work...
