That's what I've just done, and all that happens is the mole grips are slipping down the coller:( .There is a tiny little hole as shown in pic number one, would this be part of the release mechanism?

How do I part the outer cable from the helm, everyone I speak to says there is a BIG nut to undo, but I've only a spring pin? HELP!!

Its a Safe T helm if that helps
