I think that the issues are on the 60 Phil, not heard of any failure on the bigger Etecs apart from racing boats. IMO the engines are designed to be lifted or lowered so should not need any support...

I think that it might be worth getting a solicitor to send Evinrude a letter threatening legal action (might cost 50 quid) but worth a go imo.
