Couldnt you swap the axle out for a higher capacity one & maybe larger tyres then sell the old units on ebay, trailer stuff sells realy well on ebay & you might end up with your weight upgrade...

axles & hitches only come in a few weights so it might only be the tyres as on mine that are lower capacity in which case you could just change tyres & save changing a trailer that's worked fine for...

have you checked the axle capacity? I have a 2000kg rated trailer which has a 2600kg hitch & 2x1300kg axles...
