That seems excessive. Their Public Liability is usually 3 million. My annual policy is €60 with them, my old RIB, insured for €20k was €280...

IIRC, you don't need a licence to OWN a marine...

IIRC, you don't need a licence to OWN a marine VHF, but you need one to USE it. It must be the most widely flaunted rule in the book. In an emergency, no-one will question it's use.
