I had the impression that Yamaha build the block for Mariner / Mercury, not sure about the leg, but most of the other components are then down to the brand.

I have used a 150hp on a 6.5m Tornado and it was a fantastic package. Quiet, odour free as 2 stroke get and very responsive.
A friend (who used to work for Delta) had a 200 hpdi on his 6.5m rib...
