I wouldn't-it'll be possible to undo it with a set of stilsons if you weld it on. It's the 1st thing a thief will try if he's not going to chainsaw the transom off.

I've got one of these...

I've got one of these (https://www.mcgard.com/marine/outboard.asp)-far simpler. Same principle as a locking wheelnut. A lot cheaper than the Volcano too.
