Peter, had exactly the same thing with a mariner 25 (2003) a right PITA, I actually got stuck in forward, no way to start engine let alone get reverse, if i recall strip of rubber, disconect stop...

Black SR 5.4

Was speaking to a guy yesterday that has a black hulled 5.4, he questioned the authenticity of it and contacted Avon who said that the hull must have been painted, they later contacted him to say yes...

I am fortunate enough to have both at the moment, the SIB (Aerotec 380) is great fun to use from a beach and the kids love it because they are not stuck on the RIB all day, as others have said you do...

I upgraded to mine from a 5m tohatsu, TBH its all...

I upgraded to mine from a 5m tohatsu, TBH its all the boat I will ever need, I tow it behind a family estate, it sips fuel, does 40knots and is superb in all weathers!
