Ok i got my hands on another 55HP i think this one is a mariner tho
looks the same as the yammy but has a Horsepower sticker on the leg
that is more mariners thing ,anyhoo nothing on the transome...

on the lower half by the prop should be a couple...

on the lower half by the prop should be a couple bolts also where your trim tab is usely hides a bolt there look for a rubber stoper and in the hole should be a bolt undo the 3 or 5 bolts then wiggle...

Also you can ask the seller the model plate...

Also you can ask the seller the model plate number this may also give you the the shaft lenght
there are loads of guides on how to read a plate and get size year and length :)

Evinrude starter motor

i have a 25HP from 1987 good runner after i pull start her coz the the starter won`t, it just spins when i turn the key ,so im looking to refurbish coz im not getting a new one

Cheers for that only thing is my transom is not the W its just one of the last two 55`s i have looked and looked again and there is just no anode on this transom no sheard bolts and no threaded...
