Up Date 31/05.

Removed second jet, it was blocked, used carb cleaner and copper wire to clear it.

Now starts and runs fine.

What is this brown stuff in the fuel?

Hi Panel,

Engine will only run with choke out.

Have removed the large jet in the float chamber (was coated in brown gunk)

There is a smaller jet above this larger one.

Do I just unscrew...

Styrene is what I used to thin it with, up to 10%. In the end the finish wasn't too bad.

The oil wasn't too low, I checked the sump to see how much was lost, but I suppose a little oil goes a long way.

Squirted about 3ml petrol into bore, leaving plug out.

4 stroke stored the wrong way.

Need some help. Bought a little boat today.
The outboard was stored at the sellers home.

Anyway it turns out that he put it in his boot the wrong way and oil has leaked out.
It's a Yamaha 4hp....
