sounds to me like the boat is chime walking.. from the pic you have one chime at the stern, when you are in a full turn under power the stern on the boat slides or "chime walks" causing calvitation...

thanks for all the info..my 1980 5.8 was a lot heaver and ran like all heck with a merc 75.. so I guess I will run a Yamaha 85 2 stroke and strap on a parachute. This is the only mid size Yamaha...

cheers.. I will most likley run with two people and some dive kit. a 90 4 stroke exceeds transome weight. a yamaha 85 2 stroke has the power and weight but a fuel eater.. hard call on what to mount...

I am looking to power my Avon 5.4. I have been told that a Yamaha 60 HP Bigfoot4 stroke would give plenty of power with fuel economy. Any suggestions... Cheers JJ
