Just seen this on ebay, could be what i'm looking for although i'm not 100% sure how it's mounted & will the fact that i do have a tilt tube affect mounting.........

Thanks for the advice, i'm going to have a quick go trying to tap out the old steering tube, but i suspect the fact it's still in there it's in solid, so i'll be trying to source a tilt tube.

It seems to have metal sleeve, i'm assuming if i take off the large end nuts i can remove it...... can they be removed?i'm not sure this sleeve is normal or perhaps this is the remains of a old...

ok you were all right, it will fit through !, it appears it has a plastic sleeve inside it.........sorry all.............any idea's on how to get it out without causing damage...

Tilt Tube
Hi,
thanks for the advice, the marine shop called back & said pretty much what you said JWalker, apparently i have the right steering cable to go through the tilt tube & he can supply the pivot...

Ah............
