I would never consider getting anything more than...

I would never consider getting anything more than the bottom of the tyre slightly damp if possible. If you need to go any deeper, extend the trailer distance from the car with some strong rope....

If you do find there's a cracking day weatherwise, a trip south of the county is well worth it too, passing Fresh West, Broad Haven, Barafundle etc... and then Tenby. Milford to Tenby is approx 35NM....
