If not, why would anyone bother to use higher octane fuel that you will never have any benefit from....

I thought Navionics charts only came on SD, could be wrong though.

SD is just the modern incarnation of MMC. SD allows the data on the card to be secure by locking it into the card ID ( i think)....

It has worked very well. There is no cracking and no evidence of it rubbing off.
