Cheers. I'm currently using a modified dinghy trolley, but it will die from corrosion soon. So far I've drawn a complete blank - none of the dealers that sell the Zoom RIB (or the Avon and Bombard...

Launching Trolley for 3m RIB

Hi,

I will soon need a new trolley for our Zodiac Zoom 310SR. I can't seem to find any one where the rear supports look suitable. They would need to be adjusted almost flat to support the boat...

Round the knee is what we do in the rescue boats where your knee is right next to the controls. I suppose what I'm finding is that tiller steering I tend to move around the boat more.

Agreed, the wrist isn't ideal, hence my raising the question here. There's also the temptation to slip it off. I reckon changing the clip to something that will go on the D ring is the best idea,...

You'll see plenty on here if about it It makes them sit lower and more stable when at a standstill. Then when you gun them all the water sloshes out and they take off like a scalded cat.

Sorry, should have added "nice one" on the Searider. If I had an excuse for another boat I'd have a 4m Searider in a flash, and I'd keep the flooding hull.

A couple of litres at a time won't bother the Diesel engine, but if the car has a catalyst then the oil could harm it.

OK, brain failure on my part. Through the D ring and clipped onto itself will only shorten by an inch as you say. That's fiddly to clip and unclip though. So what I do is put it round my arm so...

Where do you clip your kill cord? (Tiller steering)

Hi,

Just wondered where everyone finds it easiest to clip the kill cord when you're tiller steering sitting on the tube at the rear. I keep finding that I move far enough to pop the cord, for...

Sitting to Starboard the throttle's more natural as it has the same control sense as a motorcycle. To Port the tiller steering's more natural.

Also, which way would your boat steer if you...

I haven't helmed a Searider for ages, but I seem to remember the 4m that we used would take off with quite a "woosh" onto the plane. Back in those days Seariders were the only RIBs we had in...
