Well my Yam 8 gets a tell-tale within 1-2 seconds of starting, every time.

My Yam 100 V4 takes 3-4 seconds.

Above advice is good. I coiled the spring tightly and then held it in a small circle with zip ties, before fitting into the mechanism and cutting the ties....

Yes, Most Yam's SIBs are Zodiacs. You can tell by the serial number on a YAM - same manufacturer code as Zodiac (I think) and made in France.

Yamaha are now out of the SIB resale business I think.
