since a couple of weeks I have a new rib with DTS steering and control from mercury - love the system but it surprised me there is no shift lock on the lever

very dangerous with kids on the boat...

Hoi, anyone knows what the meaning is of the 3 fingers wide hole in the transom? It is open so when I'm on the water, there is water running in at the back. What is the purpose of this?
