Slipways on Orkney

Hi,

I'm taking my RIB to Orkney in a few weeks….. And looking for decent slipways. Previously I've launched from Kirkwall, Tingwall and St Mary's but this was about 10 years ago

Too many choices…. My trailer came as a package with the RIB and engine when I bought it, so I assume it’s ok not braked?

I tied the hair back and replaced the bearings. All shiny and new now....

I have the ‘tool’ and new wheel bearings and hubs (it was cheaper to buy the wheel bearing with hubs than without… dunno why?)

Luckily when it fell apart I was 15...

I also called the harbour master, he reckons 2 hours each way of high tide (it's neep when I'm up there) so I'm quite happy...

I prefer to launch with ropes or winch as I find it more manoeuvrable, especially new slipways……

I once watched some blokes launch their RIB, trailer, AND 4X4...
