Fenlander, do you recall how much psi one should inflate in this model dinghy? I ordered the BRAVO 2 foot pump so hopefully, this will do the trick. I'm guessing I'll have to buy a gauge as well.

You mention keeping it dry. If I want to keep it semi inflated when not in use, will I still have to remove the flooring every time I use it to ensure the fabric underneath is dry? I know it has a...

I keep hearing about mice. Where we live there are tons of them. I'd lock my cats in the shed but they'd probably put claws through the raft.

Thanks for the info! I'm going to see if I can locate a pair of used oars on ebay or craigslist. I may just dissemble the dinghy for now. Is there any harm in keeping it semi inflated and upright on...

That's a relief. I started getting worried that the seller sold me the wrong size engine. Not sure why Tohatsu decided to make a 17'' shaft rather than the standard 15'' version. Wish their website...

Yeah, I was looking at those pics but couldn't tell the type of wood from them. I thought maybe teak at first. Regardless, shame they painted over them.

Thanks for all the replies (except the "are you for real one") I'm planning on taking it out when we get a decent day here and that's why I didn't want to fully deflate it. It's also a 1990 model so...

SIB Storage?

I purchased a used Avon Rover SIB this evening and temporarily only have enough room in my sunporch to store it upright on one of it's sides. It's about 75% inflated. Does this sound like an issue or...

I remeasured the shaft again and got 17''. So it's not a 20'' long but it's not a 15'' short. I don't get it. Did Tohatsu make irregular shafts? I guess the bigger question is this: will a 17'' shaft...

Assuming everything checks out, do you think $1300 is realistic for both the 6 HP four stroke motor and the dinghy? The seller said he's only used the motor about four times so it's basically new.

I just asked the seller about the valve covers. Hopefully he has them. Are there any other issues I should be concerned with? Do you think the 6HP Tohatsu is appropriate for this 10' SIB?
