Something to keep in mind, I didn't realise it myself up until I needed the aux engine , if you haven't allowed much distance between the engines you can only turn in one direction as the tiller arm...

Something to consider is insurance terms and conditions , usually if your boat can go over a certain speed they insist that you'll need to complete a power boat course, which isn't a bad idea...

Look in there to see if a wire has come loose or corroded... If all seems ok, just for a test, you could swap the up/ down...

Look for self- amalgamating tape, it's like electrical tape but it's thicker rubber type and adheres to itself, becomes like a boot, you can't unwind it off again
