I would think the Merc 115 would have a lot more...

I would think the Merc 115 would have a lot more low down grunt than the Yamaha.
2.1 litre motor against Yamaha a lot smaller c.c.
Also I think the Merc comes standard with Command thrust bottom...

I launch on the fosdyke river Welland. ( near Spalding on A17. 7 miles of tidal river and straight out on the Wash. Have a look on Google earth.

Hi mate, i have a 4 hp Yamaha as an aux for my SR4 and i often use it on my 3.4 Avon Typhoon SIB. It does 6mph flat out two up and 5mph on half throttle bimbling along! lovely little motor!

No worries Luke. also, if there is a plate saying weights etc and your heavier than the rated weight on your tyres, you will be done for that. Thats an easy mistake to make when buying new tyres....
