I would also check the offset on the outboard....

I would also check the offset on the outboard. The navy spec ones have had a lot of research done to get the right offset which they say makes a big difference.

Just to let you know the old merc 25's with that...

Just to let you know the old merc 25's with that know that pulled out and turned actually adjusted the timing to give the engine more rpm and was only used for starting from cold.
