I've been looking for the hooped headrests for mine. Ribeye themselves can't get them any more but can do the single bar & padding (as on new boats) for £345.

Yeah, the safe distance only applies while transmitting. The 1m safe distance is a worst case, constant transmit scenario - not realistically going to happen. But still has to be taken into account...
