Prop size for a zodiac 4.2 with a yammy 50
Hi all,
Zodiac 4.2m rib with a yamaha 1990 50hp 2 stroke long shaft.
Need to change the prop, really want overall good performance rather than acceleration, top speed etc.
Boat will be used...

fairly straightforward question i think....
Can i run a mariner 55 hp 2 stroke on my zodiac? it is within the transom weight but over the recommended hp.

just to bring you all up to date, Futura fully done but not trialled, patching the end of the speed tubes was a nightmare and frankly looks like a dogs dinner!! However still confident they will work...

Its not the tach cable, so what is it?
Please forgive my ignorance, there is a square drive cable coming from the steering wheel which has broken, any ideas what it is? The steering is hydraulic and works fine. Ta
