Our Raymarine 435i has gone back to be repaired (again) - and requires a new CPU for £230. It's done this every 2 years, for the last 6 and i'm a little tired of it.

Based in sunny Oxford, i need to get a new set of flairs for our diving rib as our current set have expired. I contact a few suppliers and even McMurdo directly and no one can ship flairs to me....

NEMA - my take

My take on NEMA are is to simplify the electonics into transmitters and receivers (some do both!).

Transmitters include (NMEA Output)
GPS - current position data (GGA or GLL) - waypoint data...

We have the same problem

Our 435i chartplotter does the same thing - the time it takes to turn off is not reliable, but is something that should not be happening. We also had the backlight go, which they fixed quickly.
