They use daughter craft/ribs for diving work when a dsv can't or isn't allowed to get close enough to the platform or FPSO for the divers to reach the work location I hope...

i used both ribs for diving and the delta was the faster of the 2 ribs and alot faster to get up on the plane the sea rider had a 115 straight six merc on it,

i had a 1992 delta 5.5 with a suzuki 140hp on it used to carry 5 divers and kit and had no problems with transom cracking or anything good having the extra power for the weight of divers and there...

i have twin yamaha 240hp diesels in mine 1994 original engines and legs , i service both every 150hrs ,and look after them , also drive a boat at work with iveco,s fitted ,done over 12000 hrs well...

jet drives

there aint really any books that can teach you to drive jets , just need to practice plenty or go out in a boat with someone that knows what there doing,:thumbs:

iv had 4 dive ribs delta being 2 of them, best rib iv had and for a 5.5 plenty of space for dive gear, usuall pick a 5.5 up for between 5 and 9000 if you can find them,:thumbs:

i had a 5.5m delta with a 140hp 2 stroke it would take 5 divers and kit towed it with a people carrier and an audi a4 diesel never a problem towing it, id say 100hp 4 stroke yamaha would be the ideal...

wages vary from 100-400 a day it really depends on what your doing ,who your working for, who you know, and the main one how good you are,only thing is id say most of the jobs tend to be last minute...

i had a 5.4 sr years ago and had a 115hp merc straight six fitted really fast also used it for diving ,never had problems with the weight on the transom either, :thumbs:
