Just to follow up on this one .....I have stripped down the control box and disconnected the cables at the engine end. The engine linkages move freely and so do the cables when moved manually however...

Any ideas ? My engine won't disengage at low speed when selecting neutral on approach to a mooring - to prevent ramming the bow into the pontoon I go for reverse - this engages but with a crunching...

I have fitted a new gauge (ASAP Supplies - excellent) with European resistance - the old one was a bit tired.
