we did not really rest. we took turns driving but never stopped. there is only a leaning bolster. a little seat slides out and you can take a little weight off.
legs were a little tired the next day.

Make sure your sending unit has the ground clip on it. do not run the ground off your tank. I have seen alot of corrosion problems from this. As well I would use a gasket rather than paste to seal...

the rib in the picture has a plastic collar made in a roto mold (or whatever it is called) and are filled with foam floation. they seem pretty durable and look good as well.
