Good idea, and yes the keel isn't much trouble at all. ( I think about 8 pumps for me)



Looks nice. Also, it's a simple design which makes it even better.

Proper way to convert boat to utility trailer

I bought an 18 ft boat trailer today and plan on converting it to a utility trailer with a wood deck.

After I remove the bunks, I'd like to build a deck from the rear frame to the black step right...

I am actually going to use an electric trolling motor until I can save up for an outboard. The 14ft is rated up to a 40 hp, but I don't want to go any higher than 30hp since the weight on the transom...
