We found the problem with our yamaha. Dead ECU. Found a used ECU on eBay that seem to be from the same type of engine (150 vmax hpdi). It is in the USA though and the engine number of the "donor"...

Well were not too interested in another 2-stroke because of the cost and hassle with oil and the optimax doesn't seem to be very reliable either...

New engine for Osprey Vipermax 6.5

It is time for us to get a new engine for our Vipermax. At the moment, we have a Yamaha 150 vmax HPDI from 02.

We are looking at the Suzuki DF175 and found it at a reseller here in Sweden for £14...

I think that's the bigger hpdi engines (200 or 250 hp and above). We push our engine pretty hard, cruising rpm at around 4.300-4.500. My problem with Yamaha is that spare parts are so expensive.

Who told you not to use the quicksilver dfi oil? That's what we use for our Yamaha vmax hpdi. We haven't had any problems at all because of the oil.

We have had some other problems though, but...

That's what we tried, first mat inside the hull on the damage and on the outside, then we filled the damage to form the rail with epoxy.

This didn't work and now I'm just afraid that we would...

Only like 38 knots, don't think we have a very good propeller for speed, we have a Yamaha HPDI V-max 150 on it.

Its just that the bucket seats are so nice when the sea is bumpy..!
