OOO my god is that a trout what a beauty is he the top predator or is there pike or something bigger in the lakes there my biggest trout ever was a baby at 13lbs caught on a fly on 2lbs breaking...

in my experance if petrol is stored in a ventillated can as is proper to prevent expansion etc it evaporates at its own pace which is goverened by the room temp as well , whatever is left in the can...

if you want a cheap way out spray expansion foam the stuff for roadside puntures into the tubes it locates the leak and seals it if you want you can use cavity expansion foam and need never pump it...
